YWCA 25TH ANNUAL INSPIRE LUNCHEON
On Tuesday, April 30, I attended a “We Inspire Luncheon” at the Washington State Convention Center. The luncheon is held as an ”opportunity to connect with others in support of a shared cause – empowering women and families – and celebrate the achievements of our organization across Seattle, King and Snohomish counties.” Each luncheon brings you face to face with acclaimed speakers and women whose lives have been changed with help from the YWCA.
I was fortunate enough to hear Geena Davis (actress and Advocate for Gender Equality) speak as well as honor and celebrate the life of Kathi Goertzen. It would have been her 25th year of involvement and was also her birthday. Her two daughters gave an emotional speech and sang Aretha Franklin’s “Natural Woman” which brought us all to tears and touched our hearts. We will always remember her strength and will continue to cherish who she was all that she did!
The event was an honor and privilege to attend! I truly appreciate what the YWCA is doing for lives of women and families in not only our community, but around the country! If you are interested in attending or want to read more, please look at the information located here!
A wonderful, inspiring event to be a part of!
Gilda’s Club 15th Annual “Surviving with Style” Luncheon & Fashion Show
It was incredibly inspiring and touching to attend the 15th Annual “Surviving with Style” cancer survivorship luncheon hosted by Gilda’s Club! Cynthia Nixon, the Emmy award winning star of “Sex & the City” and current acclaimed star of “Wit” on Broadway, was the celebrity guest speaker and gave an amazing speech.
The fashion show featured our very own, Cameron Levin, along with other local Seattle desigers! The models were all cancer survivors and looked stunning! It was beautifully touching to hear their stories!
I can’t begin to express how much I appreciate Gilda’s Club and what they do!
